Georgian Solid Silver Two Handled Bowl Probably Solomon Hougham London 1785
Georgian Solid Silver Two Handled Bowl Probably Solomon Hougham London 1785
Antique Georgian Solid Silver Two Handled Bowl Probably Solomon Hougham London 1785
This is a fine Georgian Solid Silver Bowl Made in London in 1785 Probably by Solomon Hougham but as he was only a registered Silversmiths from 1792 onwards I cannot be certain.
The handles seem to be a thinner silver than the bowl itself so could be a later addition they also have solder repairs whereas the bowl itself is has no repairs etc., the lip / rim to the bowl is slightly dented in places and itself will have light dings scratches etc., as expected with an antique piece.
Hallmarked with the Leopards head George 3rd duty Mark Lion K and the makers mark SH.
Bowl Diameter: 12.7cm
Width (Including handle): 20.2cm
Height: 4.5cm
Condition: as photoed (handles have several solder repairs and may be a later addition the lip / rim to the bowl is slightly dented in places and the bowl itself will have light dings scratches etc.,)
