Franklin White (1892-1975),
Note: Born near Adelaide in Australia, Franklin White first came to England on a holiday tour in 1913. His visit to the National Gallery, London, sparked a new interest in art. He was accepted at the Slade School of Fine Art in 1915. He settled in Kent and went on to exhibit his works notably at the Redfern and Agnews Galleries and at the New English Art Club in the 1920s and 1930s. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother famously bought one of his oil paintings, "Regina", at the Maidenstone Museum exhibition in 1962.
